Magnetic therapy is an alternative treatment for common diseases. The diseases most commonly treated for magnetic therapy is used for arthritis are pain, swelling, muscle tension, headaches, cancer, asthma, allergies, diabetes and many other joints or claims of healing. Some researchers suggest that magnetic therapy really works, while other scientists believe otherwise. Although magnets have been used to treat medical problems for thousands of years, there is no scientific evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of magnetic therapy. Of course, there are numerous testimonies of people who swear by the healing power of magnets. Could be mind over matter, or make real magnets have healing properties? Depends on who you ask. Note that a part of the experience is to enhance their positive energy, not to see the scientific evidence.

1. Magnetic Therapy

Magnetic therapy has been found in ancient Chinese medical texts and, in some Hindu religious documents. The Egyptians, Romans and Greeks also used magnetic therapy to treat a variety of ailments from arthritis to depression. In the world today, millions of people are turning to magnetic therapy to treat a wide range of medical conditions, the average citizen to many professional athletes. Faith in the efficacy of magnetic therapy is astronomical. The magnets are sold in many ways, the most famous is the magnetic jewelry like bracelets sold through commercials, distance and time using the Internet and can vary from $ 5 to $ 800 in price. Magnetic jewelry can come in different sizes, shapes and styles that contains an internal iron within the magnet that should wake up in the production of blood flow that controls the oxygen content. He also believed that a form of stabilization develops in the nervous system to relieve pain or discomfort.

2. Alternative Health

Alternative operators, many people believe that magnets really do have the power of healing and the state that recent research suggests that magnetic therapy really works. Researchers at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, conducted a controlled study using real magnets and fake magnets on patients with leg pain from post-polio syndrome. In this study, 76% of patients treated with the magnet was raised in pain, while 18% of patients treated with the magnet false sense of relief from pain. Other researchers have shown that magnets helped to relieve the pain in fibromyalgia patients. This study had patients sleep on magnetic mattresses and patients who slept on ordinary mattresses. Patients who slept on magnetic mattresses experienced a great pain relief than those who slept on mattresses in common. In diabetic neuropathy, the research concluded the effectiveness of the use of magnetic bearings for the treatment of diabetes-related disorders such as itching, pain and numbness of the feet were treated successfully with Magnetic pads. Almost 80% of patients with diabetes related to this complaint has supported the use of magnets to relieve pain, tingling and numbness.

3. The use of relaxation

When the magnets are held against the skin, the capillary walls relax and increase blood flow to painful areas on his body. The magnets are also used to prevent muscle spasms at the base of pain by intervening with muscle contractions and by interfering with the electrochemical reactions inside nerve cells, impeding the ability to transmit pain messages to the brain. There are many recipes and analgesics to relieve prescription medicines as the attraction of magnetic therapy is the absence of risk of side effects.

4. Starting with magnetic therapy

If you are just beginning, may be better than starting with a neodymium earth metals in coin-shaped magnet of boron. These magnets work great and cost less than other magnets on the market. All magnetism is measured in Gauss. The higher the magnetic Gauss, the greater the pain relief. The fridge magnet is about ten Gauss normal, so is too weak to penetrate the skin and relieve other than a small success. Magnets doctor can vary from 400 to just over 10,000 Gauss.

5. Make sure your magnet

Magnet placed on the affected area. You can insure with bandages or adhesive tape. If the magnet does not offer any relief in the next few days, try to reset it. If the transfer does not work, after three or four weeks, then you can safely assume that the magnetic therapy does not work for you. Try switching to another magnet or a higher gauss, or ask your doctor about other methods that could be used.

To begin, it is certainly easy to see something like magnetic therapy and decide what is just an "alternative medicine" ploy so that someone can get rich quickly, while continuing to suffer with chronic pain. This is not a bad assumption, because there are many suppliers of magnetic therapy which would do nothing more than your money. However, it is important for those suffering from chronic pain to know the whole story, and that is exactly what this article addresses. We will focus on a study of this type of magnetic therapy that attempts to shed light on some interesting developments in pain therapy magnetic.

Magnetic pain therapy for this article we will discuss a randomized controlled trial in the Peninsula Medical School of magnetic bracelets are used in an attempt to show that magnetic therapy can relieve pain in osteoarthritis of the hips and knees. This was done with the typical real magnets magnets and placebo in a trial that took 194 men and women aged 45 to 80 years suffering from osteoarthritis of the hip or knee.

What the 194 men and women were told to do is use a standard strength static bipolar magnetic bracelet, a weak magnetic bracelet, or a non-magnetic bracelet for 12 weeks. Some of the men and women in the study of magnetic therapy bracelet brought the pain of a magnetic force, some wearing the weak magnetic bracelet and wore the other "dummy" bracelet.

The results are useful for fans of at least magnetic pain therapy. The results showed that the pain of osteoarthritis of the knee and hip, there was a decrease in the use of magnetic bracelets, but there is a catch. In this case, it is undetermined if the reduction in pain is due to pain therapy magnetic bracelets, or simply due to placebo effects. This is interesting for me, that men and women of the study were all on the assumption that it was the strongest magnetic bracelets, but no matter, the results certainly does not mean that the pain magnetic therapy is a complete farce. Indeed, studies of this kind should at least suggest that magnetic therapy can help some people with certain health problems. How much pain and what types of pain have not yet been determined.

Therefore, it is true that this study does not prove once and for all that allows magnetic therapy to relieve the pain of chronic arthritis pain or other. But at the same time, this study provides some evidence to suggest that there may be magnets after more than meet the eye. In other words. magnetic fields can actually do something to help alleviate chronic pain. Of course there are more layers of skin before it reaches the bottom of the exact value of magnetic therapy as a treatment for chronic pain solution, but we must take into account the possibility that magnetic therapy can have a credible, among other pain therapy solutions.
